There are many people who have come and gone in the business of mobile oil change. It always seems easy on the surface and it is relatively inexpensive to start with a minimal investment compared to other businesses. But most mobile oil change operators rarely go through the first year. In fact, most do not reach the past several months. One has to wonder why such a good idea ends in failure. Lets take a closer look.
The profits from the first oil changes are not enough to maintain a healthy business. After calculating the cost of goods from the total bill, the net profit from your ordinary oil change rarely exceeds یس 25. And this figure does not include gas driving to the destination. You have to make a lot of oil changes every day to make a good profit to support your business and your personal expenses. Most sharp lobes are even smaller due to the higher head, but make up a large amount of it. Most successful destinations are making 60 oil changes on a bad day. An oil-changing mobile company, often employed by one or two people, is not so luxurious. The most common is your mobile oil change van which can make ten oil changes a day and then the operator runs out. And even if a person can make ten oil changes a day, he will still have to make oil changes from somewhere. They do not appear magically. Do you have such a plan? Most corporate campuses seem to think that it will provide a lot of business, especially if it is marketed by companies there. In fact that rarely works as an advertiser and if you get 10 customers a year from a huge corporate campus you will be lucky. The bottom line is that the change in oil per capita is small enough to make it a viable business without a huge amount of volume.
Second, many mobile oil change operators are not very good salesmen. They are usually very honest people and they are very passionate about their work and you have to love it but I have found that most owners who change to mobile oil would be horrible at the end of the sale. Are They are usually the type who try to charge less than the market rate on the go and think they can tell some people about their “awesome services” and wait over the phone. It never works. You have to go out. You have to make a lot of cold calling. You have to talk to a lot of fleet managers and sell first and then your service. Most of the oil-changing mobile businesses are not fully aware of this nor do they really apply to this part of the business. This is the most important part of any business, not just in the mobile oil conversion business. I would go out on a limb and say if you are a great salesman you will run a mobile oil change business or franchise well. If you know about cars but don’t know sales, I suggest working for a new or used car dealer for 2-3 months and gaining experience. It will be hard and painful but it is the fastest way to get pure hard cover sales without a lot of “so and so”. Then open your mobile oil change company.
Third, the weather cannot be underestimated in limiting what mobile phone operators can do. There are some states that have a decent weather all year round. Half of the states get really cold in several months of the year and the other half get really hot in 3/4 of the year. Both are equally discouraged. A fixed location can turn on the air or turn on the heat. Their operators operate in a controlled environment. You don’t have that luxury. You may have several fleets ready for one day and it may rain that day. Have you thought about changing the oil to 0 degrees? Your hands will not be able to grip this oil filter, nor will you be able to harden it like a rock, or you will not be able to feel it. Or replacing a hot 150 degree motor oil in 100 degree humid weather in a car where the oil filter is several times in the middle of the hot engine and you have to burn yourself to get into it? Do you clean it up and leave it or do you burn yourself to get to it? That will happen.
After mentioning these three major obstacles, there are many more, I would say that it is not impossible. I have succeeded in this. But I wish someone was straight ahead of me and my partner spent over 000 80,000 to get involved in the mobile oil conversion business. We were sold by Jetset Life Technology on unrealistic hopes and lots of dreams about tremendous wealth. Using a faulty model Extremely oily. They set us up with a great van and their product is good but their whole system is bad from bottom to top. We’ve found a way to make it work, but unfortunately 90% of business operators who switch to mobile oil don’t. The success rate is very low. Understand what is really involved and if you think you can grind it and not make any money for 2-3 years then go for it.
